"Late-season nor'easter hits region with winds and rain, causing
flooding problems in all counties"
Nor'easter Hits Delaware
As expected due to tidal flooding, the Department of Transportation, Sussex
County and the Delaware State Police have closed Route 1 between Dewey Beach and
Fred Hudson Road/Road 360 as of 3:45 p.m. today.
Variable message boards and detour signs have been put in place. Southbound
Route 1 motorists are advised to take Route 24 to Route 113 to Route 26.
Motorists heading north on Route 1 should take Route 26 or Route 54 east to
Route 113 north.
It is important to note that this closure is due to flooding of the
northbound and southbound lanes of Route 1, and these lanes should be reopened
as the tides recede later this evening.
