What's New for Adopt-a-Highway
Fall 2008
It's finally Fall and for most of us that means getting back into routines. For DelDOT's Adopt-A-Highway Program, it means some housekeeping. Check out what's happening in our program this season:
- We're looking forward to our 4th Annual Clean Up Delaware Day on September 27, 2008. Come on out and clean up your road to show support!
- DelDOT is encouraging middle and high schools to participate in our program. Each school that joins will get an engraved plaque, along with certificates of appreciation and letters of community service. If your school is interested, please contact Tina Shockley at 302-760-2080 for more information.
- Check out the Current Newsletter link to find a reference card containing AAH District Coordinator information. Clip and refer to when you do your cleanups.
- Consider giving a Gift of Remembrance this holiday season, by adopting a roadway in memory of someone or by ordering an engraved brick for the Memorial Garden.
- Congratulations to Latisha Cooper who is our 100th volunteer group to join this calendar year. She and the other 99 groups that joined this year have made this campaign a success. Thank you! However, there are plenty of roads that need some T.L.C. Let's see if we can obtain 25 additional groups before the end of 2008!
- Check out the AAH Humor Page (coming soon!). It will certainly remind you why you joined the program.
- Over the winter you'll see an Online Survey posted. This will be your opportunity to let DelDOT know what you like and don't like about our program. Please feel free to send us comments about how we can make the program better.
