2nd Annual Length of Delaware Ride

On Saturday June 22 nd 2013, Join Delaware cyclist Jeff Williams and help support the Sunday Breakfast Mission as he rides from the highest elevation in Delaware, at the PA border, to the lowest elevation, at the Fenwick Island Beach and the MD border. This is a 126-mile ride to bring awareness to and benefit Wilmington’s Sunday Breakfast Mission.

Bike Month Events

In promoting National Bike Month activities, the department participated in a Bike to Work Day event with the City of Newark on May 14. Secretary Bhatt addressed the crowd at the Trabant Center about bicycling improvements in Newark, and how Delaware made the top five most bike-friendly states.
DelDOT also partnered with the City of Dover in support of their first Bike to Work event on Wednesday, May 15. Riders biked in from the Pitts Recreation Center and headed to the Dover Public Library where Planning’s bike staff handed out Bike Month T-shirts and safety materials. A Bike to School event was held Thursday morning in Dover at the W. Reily Brown Elementary School. Bike staff also participated with the City of Wilmington’s Bike to Work day on Friday.
