Bridge 1-377 on Choptank Road
Project: A design/build precast concrete arch bridge and new roadway alignment.
Merits: First design/build project, finished 95 days ahead of schedule. Improved safety due to the improved alignment. Good Aesthetics.

Bridge 1-675, 676, 677 - SR141 over I-95
Project: Removal of sidewalks, replacement of parapets, expansion joints, deck repairs & overlay. Work on approach slabs, steel structures, and substructures, etc.
Merits: Labor intensive work in a tight work area. Maintenance of heavy traffic of a major interchange. Good community communications and traffic pattern information.

Bridge 3-155S on SR1, Sussex County
Project: Emergency repairs of two fractured bearing pedestals on the pier.
Merits: Repaired by DelDOT crew at a cost of $7,900 compared to a contractor's price of $91,200. Good cooperation of Bridge Management and District Personnel. Successfully repaired a major structural deficiency.

DART Card
Project: Implementation of a transit card system for paying fares on scheduled buses statewide.
Merits: First universal statewide fare card system in the United States. One card system with 7 different values replacing 18 varieties of fare tickets and passes. Revenue neutral, well accpeted by bus riders, high customer satisfaction, good customer service.

Harmony Road Traffic Calming
Project: Installation of traffic calming devices including brick sidewalk, crosswalks and landscaping on this heavily travelled commuter route in a residential neighborhood.
Merits: First traffic calming project, finished ahead of schedule and within budget. Very good work. More importantly, speed reduction of 17% north of Brownleaf Road, and 7% reduction south of Brownleaf Road.

Materials and Research & Office Space Building (South Wing)
Project: Design/Build a 49,000 square foot facility known as the South Wing.
Merits: First larde design/build building contract. $3 million less, 30% more than the previous project plan. 27 days ahead of schedule and within 5% of bid cost.

Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) System and Real-Time Passenger Information System
Project: Implemented an advanced satellite tracking system to locate vehicles and installed LED Signs at bus stops that provide real-time arrival times of buses.
Merits: Advanced technology - one of the most advanced systems in the country. 10% increase in efficiency of paratransit system, improved safety, and increase in ridership (+13% for Rehoboth in the 2001 Transit season).

SR7, SR72 to Pennsylvania Line
Project: Reconstruction and widening of State Route 7, intersection improvement at SR 7 and SR72, SR 7 and Brackenville Rd, and SR 7 and Valley Rd.
Merits: Discovery and relocation of Tweeds Tavern, a structure dating back to the 1700s, Partnering relationship with Delaware Nature Society, Worked closely with customers (28 working group meetings), maintenance of traffic, resolved congestion and safety problems in the area. Good finished product.

US113-A, South State Street Extended, SR10 to Webbs Lane
Project: Full depth of shoulders, paving, bypass lane, bike lane and drainage improvement.
Merits: Completed 132 days ahead of schedule (contracted 277 days) due to good execution and innovative nighttime work in a residential area. Good communication with customers, good utility coordination, good finished product, and final cost below bid value.
