Bridge 350 at Raccoon Pond


Bridge 350 at Raccoon Pond in Sussex County was a replacement project that involved eliminating a deficient bridge and constructing one that would be easy to maintain in the future with minimal cost.

This project included:

  • Advanced utility work and zero design issues
  • Quality construction which was within time constraints
  • Extensive coordination that minimized environmental impacts
  • Cost effective drivable sluice gate* which saved 90%
  • Innovative steel backed timber guardrail

*   a sluice gate is the device used to relieve overflow in a pond or lake - -it can be raised or lowered like a garage door.
