  • 9/3/2009 - Users to the DelDOT permit system should be familiar with the User Guide for Online Customers. Guide provides step by step instructions for application submission, purchase and printing of permit. Guide can be found by clicking on the Policy and User Guide link under the INFORMATION link to this web site. Paragraph 14 of the Guide and specifically the Common Errors link provide information and correct format for selected data field entries. Reminder - When a permit is in HOLD status, take permit Off Hold, make corrections to the applicable data field, then resubmit. Do not make corrections in the Comment data field, as this area is designated for electronic communication between customer and DelDOT and entries do not appear on the final printed permit. Correct entries made on initial submission will assist in timely review and eliminate delays for Users correctly entering permit applications. With the current reduced DelDOT staffing this is critical to timely processing.

  • 9/2/2009 - Due to state budgetary constraints and hiring freeze an internal reallocation of personnel has taken place. For the foreseeable future the Hauling Permits Section will have one (1) Permit Agent on duty. As a result of this reduced staffing action permit review and approval turn around time may be increased. Additionally, other associated duties such as fund account maintenance will be performed as time permits.

  • 8/14/2009 - Fund Account balances continue to run low or out. Please refer to para 2. Maintaining a Fund Account in the User Guide to replenish your account. Reminder - Checks that do not have Fund Acct number in lower left hand corner will be subject to return without action taken. Credit Cards are not accepted at this time.

  • 8/13/2009 - The Hauling Permit Section has physically moved to Room 208. Overnight mail (FEDEX, UPS, etc) should be addressed: Delaware Department of Transportation, Hauling Permit Section, 303 Transportation Circle, Room 208, Dover, DE 19901. New fax number 302-739-7808.

  • 4/22/2009 - Effective May 1, 2009 hauling permits with a single axle value equal to or over 24,000 pounds will undergo Bridge Management review. Additional time should be allowed for review and approval action.

  • 10/4/2007 - Reminder - The Company and Service Administrator can create additional User(s) (Company and Service Operator). The Company and Service Operator can process permits (enter, purchase, etc). Only the Company and Servic e Administrator has operational function to view Company and Account information.

  • 9/26/2007 - Toll rates for the MD Line, Biddles and Dover Turnpikes will increase to $11.00 effective 10/1/2007.

  • 8/24/2006 - Delaware does not issue Provision Sheets. Instead, APPENDIX B of the Delaware Hauling Permit Policy and Procedures manual contains the Common Safety Standards that apply to a permitted load. The Common Safety Standards provide conditions in which move can occur, escort requirements, warning flags and lights, etc. Permit Service should issue with permit or direct customer to OSOW web site.
