Statewide - Delaware Transit Corporation Launches Customer Satisfaction Survey

Statewide -- Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) is inviting riders across the state to participate in a new Customer Satisfaction Survey designed to gather valuable feedback and help improve the public transit experience for current and future customers. The goal is to gather input on existing DART services and to help identify future goals for system improvements that meet rider needs.

The survey gives customers an opportunity to provide direct feedback on topics including service reliability, cleanliness, safety, communication, and overall satisfaction. [More]

Statewide - I-95/Churchmans Road ESSP Camera to Issue Violations Starting May 23rd

Dover -- On May 2, 2026, the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), in partnership with the Delaware State Police, activated an Electronic Speed Safety Program (ESSP) on northbound I-95 in the Churchmans Marsh work zone.

The first 21 days were a warning period with no fines being assessed.

Beginning Saturday, May 23, 2026, registered vehicle owners receiving a first offense will receive a base violation of $20.00 and an additional amount added for each mile per hour over the posted work zone speed limit of 55 MPH in accordance with Del. [More]

DART's Memorial Day Service

Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026 - ; DART will offer bus service in New Castle County on Routes 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 13, 15, 33, 40, 64; all routes will operate a Sunday schedule. Paratransit service will operate complimentary ADA-only service.

In Sussex County, the Beach Bus services and Route 305 will operate on Memorial Day, with Paratransit operating complimentary ADA-only service. [More]

Dover -- Delaware Department of Transportation Secretary Shanté Hastings announced the appointment of Lilia Montoya as its next Chief Executive Officer of the Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC), effective July 4, 2026.

Montoya brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience in public transportation, operations management, organizational development, and strategic planning. Throughout her distinguished career, she has led major transit initiatives at North County Transit District, Long Beach Transit, Los Angeles Metro, and the Los Angeles Unified School District. Dover -- Intermittent Lane Closures along SR 1 in Dover

Dover - The Delaware Department of Transportation will be performing storm drain inspections along SR 1 northbound and southbound in Dover beginning May 11, 2026, through June 30, 2026.

Motorists may experience rolling single lane closures from Dover Toll Plaza to Dover Air Force Base during inspections.

Motorists are reminded to move over a lane, if safe to do so, or slow down by at least 20 mph if the posted speed limit is 50 mph or more when they see any vehicle stopped on the roadside with emergency lights flashing. [More]

Milford - The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces nighttime lane closures and ramp detours on SR 1 northbound and southbound in the area of Rt 36/Cedar Beach Road for roadway repair work. Nighttime lane closures will be in place on SR 1 northbound and southbound from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday, May 17 and Monday May 18th. Smyrna - ; A Delaware Department of Transportation employee escaped serious injury on Monday, April 27, while mowing grass along Route 1 near Duck Creek in Smyrna.

On April 27, 2026, at approximately 9:50 a.m., troopers responded to Route 1 southbound near Paddock Road, in Smyrna, for a report of a crash. The preliminary investigation revealed a DelDOT tractor was conducting mowing operations in the center median. [More]

This latest reminder comes after a new Short Message Service (SMS) phishing scam has surfaced referencing the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles. The scam alert states that the recipient has an outstanding traffic violation and instructs them to "click on a link" to pay the amount due by a specific date to avoid the suspension of their vehicle registration, driving privileges, further legal action, and referral to a debt collector.
