Seaford - ; The Delaware Department of Transportation announces the closure of Fleetwood Pond Road between Concord Road and Old Furnace Road starting on Monday, June 15th through Friday, July 17th (weather permitting) for spillway repair work including bridge deck repairs, joint sealing, and painting.

Detour - Northbound motorist will turn right onto Baker Mill Rd, then turn left onto Asbury Rd, then turn left onto Old Furnance Rd, and arriving back at Fleetwood Pond Rd.

Southbound motorist will use Old Furnance Rd, then turn right onto Asbury Rd, then turn right onto Baker Mill Rd, and arrive back at Fleetwood Pond Rd. [More]

Brigdeville -- Coverdale Road Bridge To Reopen with New Traffic Pattern

Bridgeville - The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that Bridge 3-235 carrying Coverdale Road over Gravelly Branch, northeast of Middleford, will reopen to traffic in mid -June.

When the bridge reopens, traffic will be restricted to one lane across the structure. Stop signs will be in place at both ends of the bridge, and motorists must stop and take turns crossing. [More]

Statewide -- Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) is inviting riders across the state to participate in a new Customer Satisfaction Survey designed to gather valuable feedback and help improve the public transit experience for current and future customers. The goal is to gather input on existing DART services and to help identify future goals for system improvements that meet rider needs.

The survey gives customers an opportunity to provide direct feedback on topics including service reliability, cleanliness, safety, communication, and overall satisfaction. [More]

Sussex County - DMV on the Go Scheduled Maintenance

Dover -- The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announces that the DMV on the Go truck and trailer will undergo scheduled maintenance the week of June 1, 2026, and will not be at its usual scheduled locations in Seaford, Milton, and Lewes.

Customers are encouraged to visit the Georgetown, Dover, Delaware City, or Wilmington DMV locations, or complete several DMV services online with a myDMV account at myDMV.delaware.gov.

DMV on the Go will return to its normal schedule starting June 8, 2026, at 10:00 am. [More]

Dover -- On May 2, 2026, the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), in partnership with the Delaware State Police, activated an Electronic Speed Safety Program (ESSP) on northbound I-95 in the Churchmans Marsh work zone.

The first 21 days were a warning period with no fines being assessed.

Beginning Saturday, May 23, 2026, registered vehicle owners receiving a first offense will receive a base violation of $20.00 and an additional amount added for each mile per hour over the posted work zone speed limit of 55 MPH in accordance with Del. [More]

DART's Memorial Day Service

Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026 - ; DART will offer bus service in New Castle County on Routes 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 13, 15, 33, 40, 64; all routes will operate a Sunday schedule. Paratransit service will operate complimentary ADA-only service.

In Sussex County, the Beach Bus services and Route 305 will operate on Memorial Day, with Paratransit operating complimentary ADA-only service. [More]

Milton - ; The Delaware Department of Transportation announces that the new Route 1 bridge over Route 16 east of Milton will be open to traffic on Wednesday, April 15. Northbound motorists should expect delays beginning Tuesday evening, April 14, as the contractor works to shift the traffic pattern onto the new bridge.

The Route 1/16 grade separated intersection project began in June 2022, with the goal of improving safety and eliminating congestion at the signalized intersection which had the highest overall crash rate and highest number of injury crashes of all SR 1 intersections between Prime Hook and Five Points in Lewes between 2012 and 2019. This latest reminder comes after a new Short Message Service (SMS) phishing scam has surfaced referencing the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles. The scam alert states that the recipient has an outstanding traffic violation and instructs them to "click on a link" to pay the amount due by a specific date to avoid the suspension of their vehicle registration, driving privileges, further legal action, and referral to a debt collector.
