Middletown -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that the roundabout at the intersection of Choptank Road and Bethel Church Roads, west of Middletown, is completed and is open for traffic. However, Choptank Road is still closed from the entrance to the Back Creek neighborhood to the just-completed roundabout at Bethel Church Road. The closed section of road will be open to local traffic to those few residents who live along that stretch of road. [More]

Over the last year, an individual riding public transportation would have saved an additional $255 due to the 41 cent increase of gasoline per gallon since November 2008. Approximately 75 DelDOT workers have been monitoring conditions across Sussex County since the start of the storm Thursday morning, placing barriers, putting up variable message boards and checking roadways for high water.
