Crossover Closure at Route 113 and Arrow Safety Road in Georgetown

Georgetown -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that it has implemented a median crossover closure at US 113 and Arrow Safety Road in Georgetown effective in late December. US 113 southbound traffic will no longer be able to turn left off of US 113 onto Arrow Safety Road, and will need to travel to Shortly Road and US 113 to make a u-turn to go north to access Arrow Safety Road. US 113 northbound traffic will still be permitted to make right turns off of Arrow Safety Road. [More]

Emergency Road Closure: Old Furnace Road Closed Due to Bridge Pipe Failure

Georgetown -- The Department of Transportation advises motorists that Bridge 3-240 on Old Furnace Rd. between Rd. 529/Cokesbury Rd. and Rementer Road west of Georgetown is closed due to a pipe failure and road undermining. DelDOT Bridge Maintenance crews were onsite this morning examining the pipe failure, bridge structure and roadway to determine the extent of damage and needed repair. They found a total collapse of the two main pipes under the bridge. [More]

Washington, DC -- RIDING PUBLIC TRANSIT SAVES INDIVIDUALS $9,190 ANNUALLY Yearly Transit Savings over $250 Higher Than This Time Last Year Individuals who ride public transportation can save on average $9,190 annually based on the November 9, 2009 national average gas price and the national unreserved monthly parking rate. Over the last year, an individual riding public transportation would have saved an additional $255 due to the 41 cent increase of gasoline per gallon since November 2008. Storm Assessment And Cleanup To Occur On Route 1 Near Inlet Bridge This Weekend

Rehoboth Beach -- The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that Route 1 between Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach will remain closed throughout most of the weekend while DelDOT crews monitor conditions tonight and start cleanup efforts tomorrow. Approximately 75 DelDOT workers have been monitoring conditions across Sussex County since the start of the storm Thursday morning, placing barriers, putting up variable message boards and checking roadways for high water. DelDOT Greets Fans to Dover International Speedway / Sunday Bus Service Available

Dover -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) welcomes fans to Dover for the 2009 NASCAR Race Series at the Dover International Speedway beginning on Friday, September 25 for the NASCAR Camping World Series Sunoco 150; Saturday, September 26 for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Dover 200; and Sunday, September 27 for the NASCAR Sprint AAA 400. At both of the Route 1 Toll Plaza's and on I-95, additional lanes will be open in expectation of traffic congestion.
