Approximately 420 feet east and west of the bridge.
This bridge was constructed in 2011 over the CSX railroad. The required vertical clearance is 21'-6"; however the bridge was 5" short of the required clearance from top of rail to bottom of beam.
This project involved raising the existing bridge approx. 6" to provide required vertical clearance over the CSX railroad. The project involved strengthening end diaphragms for jacking, jacking the bridge, reconstructing beam pedestals and bearings, reconstructing the backwalls, reinstalling joint seals, and reconstructing the approaches to meet the raised bridge elevation.
Design completed December 2015.
Construction completed Summer 2016.
This project required a detour and be constructed during the summer school break.
