Approximately 100 feet north and south of the bridge along Harvey Straughn Road.
The project consist of two (2) corrugated metal pipes that are severely corroded. This deterioration has caused the bridge to become structurally deficient. It has a sufficiency rating of 69.7 and was ranked 44th in the 2017 DelDOT Bridge Deficiency List.
This project involves the replacement of large corrugated metal pipes with multiple cells of reinforced concrete pipes. The approach roadways will be reconstructed as needed and riprap will be placed in the channel, upstream and downstream, for scour protection. The work will be performed under full road closure with detour.
Design work to be completed no later than May 2019.
Construction work to be completed at end of June 2020.
