Project Limits:
Proposed transportation improvements extend along SR299 in Middletown from Catherine Street east through the SR1 interchange.
Project Need:
The SR299 corridor currently experiences congestion during the morning and afternoon peak hours and lacks bicycle and pedestrian facilities. This project will address the congestion, safety and pedestrian/bicycle infrastructure improvements.
Proposed Improvements:
Proposed improvements include:
- Reconstructing SR299 from Catherine Street to SR1
- Catherine St to Cleaver Farm Road - Two 11-ft travel lanes with 12-ft center lane for left turn opportunities.
- Cleaver Farm Road to SR1 - Four 11-ft travel lanes section with center raised median
- A combination of 5-ft Sidewalk or 10-ft multi-use paths will be constructed through the entire length of project.
Project Schedule:
This project is currently in the design phase.
Anticipated Right-of-Way Acquisition – Begin Fall 2017
