US 40 and SR 896 in Glasgow
This intersection is in need of both safety and operational improvements. The US 40 Corridor Monitoring Program shows large peak hour volumes and substantial congestion. Traffic conditions will likely deteriorate further with proposed development in the area.
The purpose of this project is to improve safety and operations at the intersection of US 40 and SR 896 through geometric improvements, with the potential for a grade separated interchange.
Thank you for your comments received following the workshop! The project team has reviewed your comments. Our next steps include completing a noise analysis of the three alternatives and a wetland delineation. The team will be finalizing their alternatives analysis and discussing with our partner agencies. We hope to announce a preferred alternative later this year!
As part of the NEPA process, we have evaluated several alternative that will address the purpose and need of the project. Three alternatives were retained that were shown at the public workshop that was held on May 1, 2018. We had over 80 people in attendance. For those who were unable to attend the workshop, below are the boards that were presented.
