Ellendale Area

Four build alternatives and the No-build Alternative were evaluated as part of the Ellendale Area US 113 Study. Of these alternatives, the On-alignment Alternative is the Selected Alternative. The Selected Alternative best meets the project purpose and need and the other build alternatives had greater environmental impact. The No-build Alternative provided a baseline condition with which to compare the other evaluated alternatives.
The Ellendale Area Environmental Assessment contains DelDOT's Selected On-alignment Alternative which would entail:
- Upgrading US 113 to a limited access highway with frontage roads
- Realigning Old State Road, SR 213, to bridge over US 113
- Realigning East Redden Road to bridge over US 113
The Ellendale Area Selected On-alignment Alternative also provides a grade-separated intersection (overpass) at SR 16. Two grade-separated intersection options at SR 16 are being carried forward in the Environmental Assessment.
