WHEREAS, The Delaware Department of Transportation, (DelDOT) has maintenance control of an improved portion of Right-of-Way at the entrance of Goldey-Beacom College and located at the intersection of Limestone Road and New Linden Hill Road, Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware; and
WHEREAS, the Goldey-Beacom College, have petitioned DelDOT to consider the vacation and abandonment of the public right-of-way of an improved entrance to Goldey-Beacom College, measuring approx. 140 +/- linear feet in width by 278 +/- linear feet in length, which has ceased to be of necessity to the highway system.
WHEREAS, Title 17, Section 1311 of the Delaware Code grants DelDOT the authority to vacate and abandon public roads and right-of-way or parts thereof, ceasing to be of necessity to the general highway system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by DelDOT that a Virtual Public Hearing shall be held with regard to the proposed vacation and abandonment of the public right-of-way of the improved entrance to Goldey-Beacom, Wilmington. The hearing will be held online through WebEx on Friday, October 2, 2020.
