What We Do
Executive Order 14 laid out five major activities:
- Review the current and projected financial condition of the Transportation Trust Fund.
- Analyze trends in transportation revenues, expenditures, and capital needs over the next 20 years.
- Evaluate innovative, equitable, and sustainable funding mechanisms, including but not limited to user fees, public-private partnerships, and efficiency measures.
- Engage stakeholders and the public to gather input on priorities, values, and funding options.
- Prepare and submit a written report to the Governor and the General Assembly with findings and recommendations for long-term funding strategies.
Who We Are
The Task Force is comprised of 19 voting members representing state agencies, the General Assembly, local governments and private sector. It is chaired by the Secretary of Transportation and includes the Secretary of Finance, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget and members from Senate and House of Representatives.
Additional members represent organizations such as the Delaware Economic and Financial Advisory Council, the Council on Transportation, the League of Local Governments, labor unions, business associations, and professional councils. Members serve at the pleasure of their appointing authority or the Governor, who may also expand the Task Force as needed.
The Delaware Department of Transportation provides staff and administrative support.
