Delaware Transit Corporation's (DTC) Office of Safety and Security is committed to the prevention of accidents and injuries. The disciplines that will assist us in achieving our goal include hazard abatement, accident investigation, and safety education, inspections and evaluations. DTC strives to create an environment in which risk is effectively managed, employees are educated and aware, the workplace exceeds regulatory safety requirements, equipment functions properly and is used correctly, and operating procedures are safe, sound and followed.

DTC's ultimate goal is 'No Fatalities.' Our safety performance standard statewide is to achieve .33 preventable accidents per 100,000 miles traveled. This standard is formulated by the number of preventable accidents/total miles traveled/100,000 miles.
