Project Limits:
Approximately 250 feet north and south along Rum Bridge Road.
Project Need:
The existing structure consists of two 117 inch x 79 inch corrugated metal pipe arches with a total length of approximately 70 feet. The replacement of Bridge 3-653 has been proposed due to significant corrosion found during routine bridge inspections and the subsequent diminishing structural integrity of the structure.
Project Overview:
The scope of the proposed project is to replace the existing corrugated metal pipe arches with a single span concrete structure. Additional improvements include minor approach roadway work and placing rip-rap in the stream for scour protection. The work shall be performed under a full road closure with a posted detour.
