The League of American Bicyclists (LAB) released its 2024 Bicycle Friendly State rankings, where Delaware’s National ranking improved to 7th, up from 9th in 2022. Delaware also ranked 2nd out of 11 states in the Eastern Region. For additional information, go to https://bikeleague.org.

Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), Delaware State Police and Sussex Cyclists have scheduled bicycle safety checkpoints throughout the summer from June through August at various locations around Lewes and Rehoboth Beach. The DelDOT program provides bicycle safety information, trail maps, general bicycle repairs, lights and helmets.

DelDOT was awarded Silver status as being a Bicycle Friendly Business by the League of American Bicyclists in September 2022.
